"Uniform air quality matters"

Just like in any CEA operations, pests and pathogens represent a daily challenge for growers. But when it comes to cannabis, things get even more challenging as margins are very thin, growing it is very costly, although the payoff is equally profitable – considering how highly valuable this crop is. Unlike vegetables growers, however, cannabis growers cannot afford any crop waste, so it's essential that pest and pathogen pressure stays under control, and plants are free to express their full genetic potential. On top of all of that, the peculiar smell of cannabis can also represent an issue, and it's no wonder that many places in North America have introduced legislations to keep that in check.

The bottom line of all of this is: uniform air quality matters. "With existing systems, it's difficult to achieve that," says Lies van Geest from Tuprotect/O3 Tech. The company has worked on a solution which has crushed every possible test, and the keys are two: UV and ozone. "The Airmaster T20 purifies the air with UV and ozone above the crop. Through its free air inflow and outflow, it ensures that the air is purified optimally and more uniformly. It not only removes odor, but also bacteria, viruses, fungi and even pollen. This system can be used in every kind of cultivation setting, both indoors or greenhouses, and it's completely harmless not only to plants obviously, but also to people and animals.

In terms of keeping things clean, the company has also developed water purification systems. "Our POE and CIP systems ensure drain and tap water are constantly clean. On top of that, they add oxygen to the irrigation water, providing that boost to plants thus promoting healthy root growth. Our solutions can be customizable and can fit every grower's requirement. The POE has different versions from 4.5 m³ water purification per hour to 20m³. The CIP has versions from 15m³ to 90m³.
