Cultibio expands expertise with new partner Steven Jeanty

"Investors are learning from precedents and seeking stable investments"

CultiBio, a Denver-based horticultural consulting firm, was established in 2017 by JC Chidiac with a clear mission: to bridge the knowledge gap between cultivators, companies, academic institutions, governments, and investors.

The company has enabled CEA stakeholders worldwide to optimize operations, mitigate risks, and enhance productivity through specialized science, lean engineering, and sustainable strategies.

The company now welcomes Steven Jeanty as a full partner and Horticultural Consultant. With more than a decade of experience in agriculture, Jeanty brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to CultiBio.

Steven has cultivated food and medicinal crops, led teams, and contributed to agricultural innovation at other prestigious organizations. He has a proven track record in selecting plant genetics, specifying sustainable farming practices, and consistently enhancing crop performance.

Steven's experience and passion align with CultiBio's focus on science-driven solutions and sustainability in the CEA sector. "One question sparked my passion for plants: 'Where does our food come from?' I've traveled the world, met many intelligent, diverse individuals, and come away with more questions," Steven shares. "I am excited to join CultiBio and assist people with their food, growing, and agricultural questions."

The need to refine advanced horticultural techniques
"One technique our company has been driving is the SAEF (Shallow Aero/Aggregate Ebb-and-Flow) technique for hydroponic crop cultivation," JC explains. "Another is the CtF (Clone to Flower) method for high-efficiency cannabis production. We have been working with clients and partners to further explore, develop, and optimize this intellectual property."

CultiBio has a unique vantage point on global CEA trends, having worked with clients across North and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. According to JC, the industry is undergoing a geographic shift. "Interest and investment in CEA is moving away from North America and Western Europe due to numerous losses and failures. Profitable ventures are proving themselves in the Middle East and Asia. The Caribbean remains stagnant due to foreign intervention, but recent projects indicate a potential ripple effect that could increase food sovereignty in the region."

Implementation of both the SAEF hydroponics system and the CtF method to optimize TCEA cannabis production for increased efficiency and consistency

JC sees significant growth potential in South America and Africa. "These regions are perfect for a major shift in agriculture and are expected to establish themselves internationally. BRICS cooperation is strengthening, increasing confidence in a new global status quo with more equitable trade terms."

At the same time, investors in the sector are becoming more discerning. "Investors are better educated than ever and more capable of identifying fraudulent claims—the kind that led to the collapse of many of the world's largest CEA companies in recent years. They are learning from precedents and seeking stable investments that avoid reliance on flashy IP and risky novelties, thanks to advisors like us."

Efficiency, automation, and sustainability
CEA businesses are also adapting to broader economic challenges, including energy and labor insecurity. "The focus on efficiency and automation is rising," JC notes. "Sustainability is also gaining traction, driven by consumer trends among younger generations."
