CEO of Maryland-based grower Culta, Allison Siegel, has stepped down. Announced in a LinkedIn post from 4 days ago, she shared that 'cannabis is not for the faint of heart. It's an industry where passion meets relentless obstacles, where entrepreneurs battle impossible odds, and where success is often measured in resilience rather than profits.'
Siegel took on the role of Culta's first female CEO in January 2021. During her tenure, the vertically integrated cannabis company expanded its presence in Maryland by acquiring two locally owned dispensaries, Greenhouse Wellness and Kannavis, both operated by women. This strategic move aimed to broaden the company's footprint throughout the state.
"Together, we accomplished what we set out to do, and I am leaving behind a fully operationalized, successful, and high-performing company," she said.
Culta hasn't announced a new CEO yet.
