Morocco begins revoking more than a hundred licenses for growing

The National Agency for Regulating Cannabis-Related Activities has begun revoking licenses from cooperatives and investors who have failed to meet legal requirements or commence authorized activities in the cannabis sector, according to an official source.

More than 100 licenses for processing, seed import, and seedling export are set to be rescinded. The agency's review, conducted by designated committees, identified non-compliance cases, granting license holders a 30-day period to rectify their status. Compliance includes submitting a list of agricultural cooperatives and farmers with whom they plan to collaborate.

Under Moroccan law, securing a processing license requires a formal agreement with licensed agricultural cooperatives. Similarly, licenses for seed and seedling imports necessitate detailed lists of benefiting farmers and cooperatives.

The agency has also previously issued warnings to around 200 individuals holding licenses for marketing, export, and transportation, urging them to align with legal obligations within a 30-day deadline or face revocation.
