Medical cannabis is officially legal in Kentucky as of Wednesday, but sellers say it may take months for any purchases. Jay Armstrong of Dripwell Vapors told FOX19 NOW that his business, Bluegrass Cannacare, was among the ones selected in a statewide lottery to receive a license to open a dispensary.
Armstrong explained that Bluegrass Cannacare will be opening later this year, and while they can technically open already, they have no product.
"It's legal to open a dispensary today, but there's no product," Armstrong said.
In the meantime, Armstrong expressed that people who believe they may need medical marijuana should begin getting licensed as soon as possible. Armstrong explained that the more information that dispensaries and cultivators have about the population that will be purchasing cannabis, the more preparation they can do.
