US (VT): Growers in queue cleared before licensing pause

An application window for Tier 2 cultivation licenses closed late last month as part of a temporary licensing pause in response to concerns from regulators about market saturation in Vermont's cannabis industry.

"It's my understanding that all of the Tier 2's that were in the queue have completed their applications and are being recommended for approval today," Cannabis Control Board Chairman James Pepper said at the Oct. 30 board meeting.

Retailers have until Nov. 15 to complete their application, Pepper said. He advised applicants to keep an eye on a portal used for handling documents and be prompt in responding to requests for more information.

If retailers miss the November deadline, they will still have a chance to get licensed.
