GrowDirector has announced it has secured $1 million in seed funding from angel investors. This investment will further the development and rollout of the company's AI Agronomist, a tool designed to aid in crop management for commercial growers.
The AI Agronomist, slated for release before the end of 2024, will leverage advanced image recognition and machine learning to provide growers with instant plant health diagnostics and personalized treatment recommendations.
Dima Chernobilsky, CEO and Co-founder of GrowDirector said: "This funding underscores the growing recognition of AI's potential to transform the horticulture industry. We are excited to empower growers with the tools they need to optimize their operations, increase yields, and reduce losses."
AI Agronomist: Addressing the Challenges of Modern Growing
The AI Agronomist aims to be a valuable asset for commercial growers facing increasing challenges, including labor shortages, rising input costs, and the need for sustainable practices.
With the AI Agronomist, growers can simply snap a photo of a plant and receive an instant diagnosis of potential issues, such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies. The AI then provides tailored treatment recommendations, including organic and sustainable options, helping growers make informed decisions and protect their crops.
