Carbo Culture announces new VP of Agribusiness

Carbo Culture has announced the promotion of Kirsi Tanski to Vice President of Agribusiness. Kirsi previously led the company's biochar commercialization efforts. In her new role, she will drive the strategic expansion into agribusiness markets, with an initial focus on the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.

A key part of Kirsi's new role will be leading initiatives to support greenhouse growers in reaching their 2040 carbon neutrality targets. "Greenhouse growers in the Netherlands are already leading the charge towards sustainability. Therefore, our innovative biochar, energy, and biogenic CO₂ supply can help them accelerate their path to carbon neutrality," says Kirsi.

Supporting circularity with local resources
A key aspect of Carbo Culture's approach is its dedication to the circular economy. The company's factories are designed to convert local plant-based agricultural waste into biochar, energy, and biogenic CO₂. This closed-loop process ensures that waste from one part becomes a valuable resource for another, reinforcing sustainability at every stage.

"Our strategy is simple: we aim to create value from local resources. By working closely with the growers and the agricultural ecosystem, we are building a circular economy that benefits both the environment and the local economy," Kirsi emphasizes.

A new presence in the Netherlands
As part of this strategy, Carbo Culture has recently established a new subsidiary, Carbo Culture B.V., in the Netherlands. This move signifies an important step toward scaling operations and eventually supporting greenhouse growers with a steady supply of renewable heat, power, and CO₂. Kirsi's promotion aligns with the preparation to deepen its presence in the region's horticultural sector, providing renewable resources and advancing carbon sequestration efforts.
