Canada: Seven people charged for growing outdoors while holding indoor cultivation license only

The Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged 7 individuals with numerous drug offenses after the execution of a search warrant in Ramara townships.

August 2024 Orillia OPP received information about a Cannabis Marijuana grow operation in the township of Ramara. Investigation revealed that the rural property was being utilized for a significant outdoor grow operation. Orillia CSCU was able to determine that the property was licensed for indoor cultivation only, however, the grow was outdoors and significantly over the licensed amount.

On October 9, 2024, members of the Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) from Orillia, Nottawasaga, Dufferin, and Huronia West/Collingwood CSCU with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine (K9) executed a search warrant on a residence in Ramara.
