Jacksonville State University (Jax State) hosted a Lunch and Learn event titled "Preparing Alabama's Cannabis Workforce" on Tuesday, September 24, bringing together leaders in the cannabis industry, elected officials, educators, and students to explore the development of the state's cannabis workforce. The event was hosted by Jax State professor Dr. Lori Hensley, along with students engaged in the university's innovative Cannabis Studies program.
The discussion focused on equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in Alabama's rapidly emerging cannabis industry, as well as the potential benefit of medical cannabis in treating pediatric cancer. Attendees were given a comprehensive view of Jax State's efforts in cannabis education, particularly through the university's Cannabis Science and Cannabis Business & Culture microcredential programs.
