As of Aug. 30 this year, the OMC had received 49,073 patient applications and approved 34,003. Mon's 2,162 patients ranks it second behind Kanawha, with 3,950. Rounding out the top five are Cabell, 1,979; Berkeley, 1,823; Wood, 1,544. The OMC notes that these five have 33% of the state's population but 38% of the cannabis patients.
