US (CA): After a two-year delay, a new 100,000 sq ft cannabis greenhouse is launched

After a significant delay of over two years, Green Horizons held its grand opening featuring greenhouse lighting from California Lightworks. Like much of the California Cannabis industry, Green Horizons faced significant delays in completing its final rounds of financing on the initial phase of its planned one million-square-foot cannabis cultivation facility in Coachella, California.

In cooperation with the city of Coachella, the local power utility, and the State of California, Green Horizons demonstrates the resilience of the California cannabis industry despite recent price downturns and increased black market competition.

New 100,000 sq ft greenhouse launched
Over two years ago, Green Horizons built a state-of-the-art Next Gen greenhouse and was close to beginning cultivation when there was general price collapse in the market and financing stalled. After two difficult years of seeking alternative financing solutions, the project has finally moved forward with the opening of the first 100,000 square foot greenhouse facility. Central to this opening is the MegaDrive greenhouse lighting system from California Lightworks. Matched with the new Pearl greenhouse control system from Link 4, Green Horizons features advanced automated lighting and control systems.

"We congratulate Green Horizons for their perseverance in a difficult market," the California Lightworks team says. "They are now poised to launch a fully vertically integrated cultivation, production, and branding group with one of the most modern greenhouse facilities in California."

Lighting
"The MegaDrive Linear 400 system offers features and flexibility that allow for greater spectrum control from its easy-to-use app," the company adds. "Eliminating the need for power drops, it drastically lowers installation costs as well as getting rid of unnecessary complications that can result from individual power supplies on the back of each fixture, including those that are caused by humidity and other potential contaminants."

"We make delivery and installation easier than ever, so you can start experiencing the powerful benefits of this system. Every MegaDrive system is custom-designed and computer-simulated to ensure the lighting will work as expected upon delivery. You can rest assured that all of your components will come simultaneously to allow for easy and fast installation so you can quickly get back to your normal operation," California Lightworks adds.
