Australian grower purchases equipment from other Australian grower

Australia: "We need the additional capacity"

Biortica Agrimed confirmed completion of an equipment purchase from Cann Group.

"This is a great deal for both Cann & Biortica," said Biortica CEO Tom Varga, "and further confirms Biortica's desire for industry collaboration and co-operation. The equipment acquisition allows us to complete glasshouses No.2 & No.8 ahead of time and below budget," he said. "It's great equipment, with no wait times and favorable pricing."

"Our existing glasshouse facility is fully sold through to Q2 2025. We need the additional capacity," he said. The equipment purchase, together with works already completed and underway at Biortica's Victorian & New South Wales' sites will provide an additional 16,000 sq. m. of new capacity, scheduled to come online Q1 2025.

"Biortica and Cann Group's relationship goes back to Peter Koetsier, former CEO, with whom I had a great relationship," said Tom Varga, "I'd also like to thank Cann Group's current CEO, Jenni Pilcher, another great professional to work with."

"At Biortica we continually aim to reduce Australia's reliance on cannabis imports, create great jobs in regional communities and deliver the highest quality, regulated, medicinal cannabis to Australian patients," he adds.
