Canary Islands supports the development of the medical cannabis industry

Canary Islands supports the development of the medical cannabis industry. They have spoken of "a clear example of circular economy", since the cultivation of medical cannabis, in which the Canary Islands has "a competitive advantage".

The plenary of the Parliament of the Canary Islands has supported this Wednesday, with the support of all groups except Vox, the development and establishment of the autonomous community of the cannabis industry for medicinal use.

The initiative of the deputy of the Mixed group Raúl Acosta (AHI) asks to urge the Government of the Canary Islands to request the Government of Spain to comply with the recommendations of the subcommission of Health and Consumption on the regulation of the active ingredients of cannabis and to propose the archipelago as a connection point for the development of this industry.

The other groups that support the Government of the Canary Islands, CC, PP and ASG, have presented an amendment, accepted by the proponent, which suggests that the research be led by the Canary Islands Institute of Agricultural Research.
