Sophia Liu, Sincore Lighting:

“Our goal is to help growers save costs while improving yields”

"As more and more countries continue to legalize cannabis, we aim to help growers improve their lighting. We have over 15 years of LED industrial lighting experience and are now using this experience to manufacture grow lights," says Sophia Liu, Sales Manager at Sincore Lighting. Sophia explains that their lights are developed with the cannabis industry in mind. "Our R&D is based on cannabis plant growth. From the vegetation to the flowering stage, cannabis plants need a different spectrum. In vegetation, blue light will stimulate root and leaf growth. In the flowering stage, the plants need more red light. Our LEDs take the cannabis plant's specific needs into account."

Save costs, improve yields
"Our goal is to make lights that are highly efficient and low in cost. As a result, growers are able to save costs and improve their yields," Sophia says. "The lights also have a built-in LED driver and can be controlled and dimmed using a touch screen or the controller." If a grower requests a different spectrum after all, that is no issue. "The light bars can be changed easily. When customers request a different spectrum, we can provide the new light bars while using the same LED driver. That saves growers a lot of money. In any case, the spectrum and structure base can be customized to the grower's needs."

Interesting markets
Sincore Lighting has mostly been selling its lights to growers in the U.S. and Thailand. Now, they want to expand. "We are very interested in Europe. We especially see potential in countries like Germany, The Netherlands, and Spain. But of course, we would love to supply growers in any country where cannabis cultivation is legal. In the near future, we want to have our own sales distributor in Europe. Currently, we're busy finding customers to work with and promoting our brand." Sincore supplies lights to home growers as well as commercial producers.

Reducing shipping costs
Sophia explains that they ship their products SKD (Semi Knocked Down). "SKD is usually used in international trade to disassemble finished products, export and ship them as semi-finished products and parts, and then local importers assemble the parts. We are able to do this with our grow lights because they have detachable designs. Overall, this can reduce the shipping cost by up to 30%."
