Plug & Play ready-to-use vertical farm solution with air distribution

Bosman Van Zaal is collaborating with the launch of the OptiRack Grow™. This vertical farming system with integrated climate, irrigation, and LED installations combines the experience of both companies.

"The OptiRack Grow is a ready-to-use vertical farm solution that integrates all essential components," the Bosman Van Zaal team explains. "Bruynzeel specializes in optimizing space usage, thereby increasing available cultivation surface through a flexible design concept. The rack design utilizes high-quality and durable materials with increased corrosion resistance for a longer lifespan. The result is an integrated space-saving system that seamlessly combines heating, lighting, humidity, water and nutrient supply, software, and data monitoring."

To create an optimal microclimate among the plants, Bosman Van Zaal has developed a flexible air distribution system. It consists of a compact distribution system to regulate airflow from top to bottom and, conversely, to enable vertical airflow from bottom to top. According to R&D engineer Carlo Castelijn: "Our developed system is extremely flexible and ensures optimal air distribution tailored to the desired microclimate for each growth phase. The created airflows not only provide optimal growth conditions but also reduce disease pressure from fungi."
