BLV to focus exclusively on HPS / MH lamps

BLV has decided to stop production and distribution of luminaires in the field of horticulture lighting as of 01.01.2021 and to concentrate exclusively on the manufacture and distribution of light sources. With this step the company returns to the roots of its core competence.

BLV has been an established name in the field of horticulture lighting for almost two decades and enjoys a worldwide reputation, particularly for its Horturion® HPS lamp series. In recent years the company has further expanded its product portfolio, but has always invested with undiminished intensity in research and development of conventional (HPS) lamps.

In 2017 a new and ultra-modern production facility was inaugurated at the sister company Ushio Poland in order to significantly expand production capacities and to meet growing demand. This year, with the Horturion® intense, BLV was the first company in the world to launch an HPS lamp with 1150 W / 2400 µmol/s output on the market.

With the current decision, BLV is consistently pursuing its path to become the world’s leading manufacturer of high quality light sources for a growing horticulture market.
