buy flowers, not toilet paper

#FlowerBoostChallenge unites horticultural industry and helps growers

Going viral might not sound like something positive these days, but with the recently launched #FlowerBoostChallenge that is exactly the goal. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the prices for cut flowers and potted plants have decreased dramatically. This week many flowers and plants had to be destroyed. To turn the tables, the team with Van der Ende Group launched the #FlowerBoostChallenge.

Outside the Westland area
The hashtag and the challenge to buy flowers from a grower or a florist and hand them out
was embraced rapidly by the horticultural industry in and outside the Westland area and also reaches other industries. By now over a hundred companies bought flowers for their colleagues, people working in healthcare or anybody who might deserve it these days.

Our floricultural colleagues participated as well and even though it is a drop in the bucket we're glad we brought beautiful campanulas to the elderly people in our town.

Difficult situation
By now many growers have thanked the company for the initiative. "Everyone is dealing with the difficult situation and we are happy to provide a bright spot in the darkness", says Lex van der Ende, who never thought it would grow this big but who of course is very happy with the results - especially now also companies outside the horticultural industry are joining in to help.

International support
In addition even in China various companies decided to participate in the challenge and although we do not know how to say #FlowerBoostChallenge in Chinese, we do recognize the hashtag in the message going round on WeChat.

After being tagged by Gakon and Ridder Group of course also our team participated in the challenge and now we are curious to see what international companies dare to join. We've seen that Bosman van Zaal tagged the Agrinomix team and we're curious to see the results!
