New container for hemp and cannabis motherstock to be introduced at Cultivate 2019

There are different things to consider in order to grow high quality cannabis consistently. According to Lars Jensen, USA's National Sales Manager with Blackmore-Ellepot, one of the most important things is to ensure enough air circulation to the root system, so that the plant can grow healthier and faster. “Roots matter,” he says. “And in order to have good roots, you need good drainage and air circulation.” Their new patented container was specifically designed to care of this matter for the cannabis and hemp market.

Higher performance
So what's the importance of healthy roots? It might be clear to most growers by now - but Lars doesn't mind explaining it once more. “If you have perfect roots, meaning zero girdling roots, you will have a better growing plant. A better growing plant means a higher performance and faster growing plant - and than a better going and faster growing plant will mean a higher yielding plant."

This vision is the core of the activities of Blackmore and Ellepot - there goal is to help growers create optimum growth with products supplying enough air and water for any plants' specific needs. "For growers, the biggest thing to remember is to ensure to have the best media, guaranteeing the best distribution of water through-out the container."

Cannabis
The companies have been providing these solutions for both the ornamental as well as the horticultural industry. In their findings and research they've discovered the cannabis plants are quite much like a garden mum or even a poinsettia.

Lars further explains. “Cannabis roots need air to grow. The hemp pot exposes the entire root system to air, compared to traditional pots that only expose the surface. This allows for perfect water distribution throughout the pot and enables more wet-dry cycles as it provides more air in the substrate, making water management easier and giving the plant healthier roots."

The hemp pot promotes air pruning and secondary & tertiary roots eliminating circling and girdling. "This makes a healthier plant which results in higher yields."

According to Lars, customers using the company’s pots are already experiencing very welcomed outcomes. "Starting in the 72ct Ellepot Airtray, ideally stepping this up into the 8 ct Ellepot AIRtray and from there stepping it up in the hemp container", he shows the products needed to create optimum growth conditions. "According to our clients this gives great results and they very much like the design."

Blackmore-EllepotUSA will be at Cultivate 2019 at the booth 3015-3017, introducing their new patented container specifically designed with focus for the cannabis and hemp market.
