The second day of the Pro Manager Mastercourse Medicinal Cannabis focused on mechanization and automation of cannabis production. The day kicked off with a visit to Tomato World.
The company Codema gave a talk about the different parameters to take into consideration in a cannabis growing facility, and how automated systems make most of the work 'easier'.
After that, participants had the opportunity to visit the greenhouse, where they could see with their own eyes the technological level of Dutch tomato production.
Next destination was at Perry van de Haak flower greenhouse, where attendees could see how automation can be deployed within a greenhouse, thus making production processes easier and more manageable.
Just a quick stop to grab a bite, and then attendees head to Meteor Systems B.V. offices, where the CCO explored the pros and cons of gutter systems vs mobile benches. That sparked very interesting discussions, during which participants tackled the argument from different production standpoints.
At the end of the day, the last stop was at VW Maxburg tomato greenhouses. This operation was one of the first using gutter systems for tomato production.
There are still a lot of companies and facilities to visit in the following days for the course attendees. Next week, the Pro Manager Mastercourse Medicinal Cannabis will partake in the GreenTech too!
