From their factory in Ontario Canada, GGS Structures President, Leigh Coulter has announced the formation of a new division to help governmental agencies develop standards for cannabis cultivation. “While Colorado has done a tremendous job of showing the world that a legal, regulated, cannabis industry is socially viable and economically beneficial, the recent surge of pesticide problems has brought to light a significant gap in their regulatory standards for plant cultivation.” stated Ms. Coulter “As more countries around the world move towards developing a legal, regulated, cannabis industry, there is a clear and present need for knowledgable assistance in understanding how to build quality control at every stage of plant growth.”
Sales Manager, Michael Camplin acknowledged “a good part of our success comes down to understanding that there is no ‘one’ cannabis greenhouse, just like there is no ‘one’ solution for growing poinsettias. Greenhouses in California are different than greenhouses in Jamaica, are different than what we build in Canada or Colorado, or Australia.”
The Government Standards division of GGS will be headed by Gerald Harrison, who brings with him a lifetime of experience working with governments from his years owning a large multinational mining and construction conglomerate, that included Harrison Western (Colorado), Harrison Odebrecht (Brazil ), and Construtora S.A (Mexico). And with projects as diverse as building underground antigravity testing facilities for NASA in order to send man to the moon, to the construction of submarine tunnels under the Bahamas for the US navy, a project that awarded the company the key to the Atlantic, to the largest Hydro tunnel project in Peru, which went straight through the volcano Misty.
Gerald Harrison first entered the greenhouse industry with his acquisition of Growers Greenhouse Supplies (the parent company of GGS Structures) in 1984, and his interest in providing technology and innovation to growers and plant scientists has expanded as the company added addditional companies including Niagrow Systems and JGS Limited.
The Canadian Government under the MMPR program instituted strict regulatory requirements to ensure the health and safety of all medical marijuana products. Their standards, and measurable requirements are by far the strictest of any jurisdiction currently licensing cultivation of medical cannabis. GGS has worked with cannabis growers in almost every US and Canadian jurisdiction with licenses, as well as international growers.
